April 2019

Ian Smith of Providence Academy

Ian is a talented player who leads the 7-2 Providence Lions in scoring with 39 points (33 G, 6 A) and is third in the state for goals scored. Ian is also an unselfish player. During a game, he never pays attention to his own stats.  In fact, he always seems surprised at how many goals he has scored when he is told after the game.

Ian is deeply religious and lives out the Providence Academy mission on a daily basis.

Ultimately, Ian participates for the fun of the game. The stats and the awards are secondary to him.

Kenna is a truly talented softball player that really showcased her ability in the month of April. She generated great numbers batting with an .850 average while also adding 3 home runs, 3 doubles, 3 triples, and knocking in 18 runs. In addition to her spectacular hitting, she is a terrific fielding shortstop and a quality relief pitcher when called upon.

Kenna's sophomore season has been her best in her four years as a starter for the Bears. Her teammates follow her example on the field and enjoy her smile and friendship off of it.
